Pre-Travel Excitement

I can already feel it. I’ve pretty much given up on studying for my last final, because summer seems to already have set in. And summer means travel.

I don’t leave for Oxford until July 7th, but that hasn’t kept it from invading my mind every moment of every day. I’ve also made road trip plans with a friend of mine, since we both need something exciting to break up the summer full of work.

I haven’t been out of the country for four years now, when I took a ten day France/Italy trip in high school. That’s four years of dreaming, and now that it’s almost here, I really can’t wait.

I’ll be blogging about my travels here in a series called “The Traveling Fantasist” (see all of the posts here). I hope to post at least once in each place (as of now the travel itinerary is Wales, Oxford, Edinburgh, Paris, London, and Ireland, but expect countries to be added to that). I’m sure I’ll post more often when exciting things happen (which will hopefully be often), and I’d like to continue posting about writing as well. If you’re interested in following me more closely (especially in pictures), follow me on Instagram (@kristinwaites)!

In the meantime, I’ll be in Waco, working away and remembering what it is I’m working for.
